Terms of Service

We rely on the details and information supplied by you. The following criteria dictate basic implications for the vehicle to be transported. The vehicle must meet the following requirements:

  • Drivable: the vehicle engine turns and it is able to move itself unassisted onto the carrier, with working brakes, handbrakes and windows
  • Minimum ground elevation of 200mm / 20cm
  • Maximum weight of 3 tonnes per vehicle
  • No loose or overhanging parts and/or items connected to the vehicle

Standard dimensions are:

Car / Sedan

  • Length — 5.1m or under
  • Width — 2m or under
  • Height — 1.65m or under

Light Commercial / 4WD / SUV

  • Length — 5.2m or under
  • Width — 2m or under
  • Height — 1.9m or under

In case the dimensions differ from above, a revision of the quoted price is required.

Accessories

Aerials, antennas, roof tents, and anything mounted to the roof or sides of the vehicle are considered part of the vehicle's maximum dimension (height and/or width). Any additional height or width will incur extra charges if not removed prior to collection or drop off. We accept no liability, insurance, or compensation for any aerials, antennas, tents, awnings and/or other accessories removed, lost, or damaged during transport.

Exclusion applies to standard or non-standard motor vehicle accessories that are not permanently attached to the vehicle, such as, but not limited to, number plates, antennas, bullbars, awnings, roof racks, louvres, rain shields, bonnet protectors, bug protectors, sunshades, additional lights and/or sirens, or other vehicle accessories.

Goods in Vehicle

All vehicle cabins shall be empty unless booked and permitted with limitations.

A maximum of 100kg can be loaded. The floor and air space behind the driver must remain open and allow maximum driver leg space with the seat at a 45-degree recline. Window view must not be obstructed. Any and all items within the cabin must be secured.

Goods in the locked-up and separate trunk are allowed and count towards the maximum load limit.

We disclaim any legal liability for loss or damage to the goods or the vehicle resulting from the presence of the goods inside. Additional charges may apply in cases of violations within the area made available for the goods, or for a vehicle that carries goods that exceed the limits described herein or are undeclared.

The owner and/or sender of the vehicle takes all legal and civil liability for the contents and the vehicle.

Lost Key Notice

The company does not bear any responsibility or liability for lost keys after the vehicle is at its destination. The cost of replacement or recovery for such misplaced or stolen keys is not covered by the company.

Empty Vehicle

A vehicle will still be considered empty even with the following items:

  • Spare tyre
  • Jack
  • Tool kit (associated with the vehicle)
  • Fitted baby seats / booster seats
  • Items inside the locked and separate trunk below 40kg in weight

Transit Time

All dates are indicative only, apply as business days and exclude weekends or public holidays. Dates may differ during peak periods, types of backlogs, driver availability, acts of nature, dependency on freight, and location. Transit time starts to be counted from the 1st business day after the collection date or after the date of depot drop-off. UB Transport does not guarantee the collection/delivery time.

Do not make plans for travel, holidays, or meetings based on estimated transit time.

Home Collection

Vehicle collections within 20km of the yard normally take at least 3 business days after the collection/available date provided. Locations outside the indicated range, and driver meet collections, may take longer. Contact us to arrange a schedule and/or for updates.

Note: placing a desired collection date on your booking request does not indicate a guaranteed date or time for pickup. The customer shall be contacted a day before the collection day for scheduling, and an approximate timeframe for collection shall be provided.

Note: unsuccessful collections incur a no-show fee when the agent attempts to collect, but the vehicle is unavailable due to, but not limited to, non-compliance with the booking terms.

Timelines for vehicle collection from specified and approved locations also apply for their delivery when booked.

Depot Collection

Vehicles that arrive at the depot must be collected within 2 business days unless otherwise arranged. Storage fees will be charged daily if the vehicles are not picked up within this timeframe.

Auction House Collection

Any vehicle to be collected through an auction house should be a registered running vehicle free of damage, with all the required documents completed and fees settled. A copy of these documents and/or proof of payment must be provided.

If the vehicle invoice is a write-off or non-running, it must be communicated before making any bookings. Additional admin fees may be charged for failure to disclose and/or provide the required documents to release the vehicle on time.

The customer must provide all the necessary documents and pay the fees related to the release of a vehicle for auction house collection.

Changes and Modifications

All requests for changes to an existing booking must be submitted in writing at least 48 hours before collection from home or drop off at depot.

Changes to a booking may increase fees and cause transport delays.

Cancellations

  • Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing at least 48 hours before collection from home.
  • A standard cancellation fee of $250 shall be applicable for each booking.
  • Refunds will be processed within 24 business days.

An admin fee will be applied for modifications made within 48 hours of collection or transport. A no-show fee will be applied for vehicle collection or delivery attended. Cancellation while the vehicle is in transport is not allowed and forfeits the fee.

Damage to a Vehicle

UB Transport recommends that all vehicles (with or without content) booked have their own transit insurance coverage. Please note that we do not accept liability for damage beyond our control, including but not limited to:

  • Pre-existing damage
  • Hidden defects
  • Weather-related damage
  • Airborne debris/objects
  • Insect-related damage
  • Bird or bat droppings
  • Minor/not visible scratches or cosmetic blemishes
  • General wear and tear
